by Quiller Books of Wykey as part of the celebrations of the 700th
anniversary of the granting of the Borough Charter in 1308. |

little known story of the East African slave trade and the British efforts to
bring it to an end. May Allen was the
daughter of the Vicar of Prees in north Shropshire, she trained as a nurse and
in 1878, sailed to Zanzibar to be the first medical missionary with the
Universities Mission to Central Africa.
There are many references to the county and even West Felton and Ruyton
XI Towns. |
